Weather Observer

The Vanuatu Meteorology and Geohazards Department (VMGD) wishes to recruit 1 suitable candidates for the Positions of a Weather Observer. All applications must be sealed and address to the Human Resource Officer, PMB 9074 – Port Vila. The closing date for this application will be the closing date for this application will be 28^th September 2017 @ 4:30pm.

Annual Salary:    VT 811,440                                   

 Grade:     J Cs 2.3

Selection Criteria:

Qualification: Certificate

Special Business Education: Year 12/13 certificate with science subjects and with basic meteorology – WMO Class IV

Experience: Experience in relation to meteorology is preferable

Special Skills: Computer literate, Information management skills (e.g. reading, recording) & Public relations skills.

Thinking Style: Practical and analytical thinker

Communication and Interpersonal skills: Good verbal and written communication skills

Behavioral Competencies: Works well within a team. Eye for detail, committed, reliable and punctual

Language/spoken:  English and Bislama or French
